Q. Is this game legal?
A. Yes! Colorado has laws against gambling. PokerLeagueColorado has retained legal council and has carefully structured our game to be legal. Local authorities have studied and approved our way of gaming. (all poker hosts will have copies of letters from local authorities)
Q. How much does it cost to play?
A. Nothing! Just signup and play. Although this game is free please support your host location. They are bringing you this event.
Q. Do I really have to be 21 to play?
A. Yes! Two reasons, legal drinking age in Colorado is 21 alcohol will be served at most all host locations, along with liability issues you must be 21 - no exceptions. (2) Nevada gaming law is open to 21 and over, you could not participate in the World Series of Poker.
Q. We have a dispute on rules?
A. If the table cannot reach a consensus the poker host will make ruling, all decisions are final.
Q. How long will this game take to play?
A. The game is approximately 3 hours long from start to tournament champion.
Q. Why do the blinds continue to go up?
A. This game is sold to the sponsoring venue to last approximately 3 hours. Blinds control the time of the event.
Q. I am running late to a tournament, can I still play?
A. It depends, seating is limited to those who signup in time. If a seat is open you may enter a tournament before the start of the second blind (approximately 20 minuets after the official start of tournament). We cannot sign in any player not physically at the tournament location.
Q. How do I take a break?
A. In a tournament players can fold their hand. If you are not back by the next hand a neighbor player will fold for you. Players not back by the blinds, dealers will pull the appropriate blind amount from your stack and then fold your hand. Players not able to continue play for any reason may surrender chips to the poker host, exiting players cannot hand over chips or cards to any other player. All other players will continue play as usual. No group table breaks are allowed unless authorized by poker host.
Q. Our table is down to 4 players what do we do?
A. Notify your poker host, your table will be “folded”. Players will then be dispersed to other tables of 5 or more. If we cannot fold your table due to unavailable tables, your poker host will have the discretion to slow play or offer a break to the entire table for a short time.
Q. Can our table get a new set of cards?
A. Yes! Any player at any time may ask for a new set of cards for any reason. Your reasons are your own.
Q. I got to the final table and the extra points, do I also get the sign in points?
A. No! only players who sign up and fail to make the final table will get sign up points.
Q. The dealer has made an error, what should we do?
A. Various misdeals have different rules, asks your poker host.
Q. I lost early can I still play?
A. Yes! Complimentary table(s) is available to players who signed up for the tournament only. Those tables are available only after the active players have been combined to other tables. Losing players who wish to continue to play must show their sign in badge and gather other inactive players. The poker host will issue players a number of special chips and cards. Players are responsible for their own play. Poker host will be unable to answer questions or exchange chips. ALL comp tables will be folded by the final table of eight. There is always the possibility of another PokerLeagueColorado event later that evening.
